Resolving “An unknown error occurred and the action couldn’t be completed” for OneNote on Android

A common error when first trying to sync OneNote on an Android device is “An unknown error occurred and the action couldn’t be completed”. This can often be resolved by deleting the directory labeled ‘Personal (Web)’. This can be done either from the OneNote application or by logging in to SkyDrive.

After deleting the web directory, you should be able to re-install and sync your Notebooks from the Android app.
